Week 11 – Who Can Beat the Undefeated Teams

Week 11 of the 2012 College Football season has already begun, but the real fun begins on Saturday: All four undefeated national title contenders – Alabama, Kansas State, Oregon and Notre Dame in action, with three of them playing on the road. Louisville are undefeated as well, but aren’t in contention for anything but a BCS bowl game, while Ohio State are simply playing, and winning, for nothing.

Florida State Seminoles – ACC Crown Isn’t so Bad

Who knows where the Florida State Seminoles would be ranked without that Week 6 loss that took them out of the national championship talk. Now, 9-1, with one of the best defenses in the country and looking well on their way for the first ACC title for the program since 2005, matching your secondary goals isn’t that bad.

Oregon State Beavers – How They Can Still Reach the Rose Bowl

Everyone’s assuming that Oregon State aren’t good enough to win the Civil War and take down Oregon in what should be one of the biggest games in this rivalry’s history due to the fact that both teams are in the top 11 and both have simultaneous high hopes for the first time since 2000, when they came into game ranked #5 and #8.

2012 College Football Season – Week 10 BCS Standings

While there’s no change in the top spot of the BCS rankings, as Alabama beat LSU and put their toughest hurdle behind them and Kansas State kept their second spot after a win over Oklahoma State, Oregon leaped over Notre Dame after a big win over USC, while the Fighting Irish struggled to overcome Pittsburgh in three overtimes.

No change in the top of the AP Poll after week 10, as Alabama (beating LSU), Oregon (beating USC), Kansas State (beating Oklahoma State) and Notre Dame (beating Pittsburgh) remained undefeated and kept their top 4 positions, while Georgia moved into the top 5 after beating Ole Miss.

  • Oregon Ducks – No One Can Keep Up With Kenjon Barner

Oregon Ducks – No One Can Keep Up With Kenjon Barner

Too much offense, even for USC, who were ranked number one in the nation before the season began. Kenjon Barner set records for an Oregon running back and for a Trojan opponent, leapfrogging some players in the wide open race for the Heisman trophy, proving just how good the Ducks are, at least offensively.

  • Alabama Crimson Tide – AJ McCarron Can Play Fourth Quarters

Alabama Crimson Tide – AJ McCarron Can Play Fourth Quarters

He never really had a need or a chance to prove his metal in fourth quarters this season, because Alabama were never in a close on until their visit in week 10 to LSU. AJ McCarron struggled for most of the night, but with 1:34 left on the clock, the Tide’s quarterback came through, eventually finding T.J. Yeldon, who scored a 28 yard touchdown to cap off a game winning drive.

College Football – Undefeated Status Quo Remains

There were plenty of big games and close calls, but the same undefeated teams remain: Alabama in the SEC, Oregon in the Pac-12, Louisville in the Big East, Kansas State in the Big 12, Ohio State (who can’t reach a bowl game or win the conference) in the Big Ten and Notre Dame.

2012 College Football Season – Alabama vs LSU Predictions

Not game of the century like last year (twice), just game of the year. The number one team in the nation who most agree have yet to face a true test this season, the Alabama Crimson Tide, head into a tricky, emotional and promising night game in Tiger Stadium to face the #5 LSU Tigers.

Auburn Tigers – Gene Chizik Hopes Jonathan Wallace Saves Him

It’s all quiet, for now, from the Auburn chiefs after the 2012 season hit another low point. Gene Chizik is going to try and throw probably the last thing he has in his bag of tricks, starting freshman quarterback Jonathan Wallace in what looks like a hopeless attempt to somehow change the momentum of a horrendous season.
