The financial situation in Germany is pretty good, meaning that every team in the Bundesliga spent quite a few Euros on bringing in new talent, although mostly from within Germany. Most notably, obviously, were Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, probably up for another two horse title race in the 2012-2013 season.

Italian Serie A 2012-2013 Summer Signings
Just like in most of Europe, the recession and the new FIFA financial fair play regulations beginning in 2013 have really cut expenditures to a minimum. Milan, Inter and Lazio hardly spent a Euro on new transfers, with only the champions Juventus making a big splash in the transfer market in order to keep their Serie A title in 2012-2013 as well.

Transfer Rumos 2012 – Luka Modric Finally a Real Madrid Player
Maybe using Chelsea’s name helped Daniel Levy and Tottenham finally convince Real Madrid to go ahead and not give up on the deal to sign Luka Modric for £33 million (including add-on fees), but the important thing is that this transfer saga is nearly over, with the Croatian flying to Spain in order to complete the move in the next 48 hours.

Chelsea FC – Eden Hazard Great, The Rest Not so Much
Two matches into the 2012-2013 Premier League season and Chelsea, for the time being, are on top with two wins and six points, for the first time since November 2010. But aside from Eden Hazard having a fantastic start to his career with the club, there wasn’t anything too convincing in the wins over Wigan and Reading.
