The list includes surprising names such as Texas Tech and Wichita State, alongside heavy favorites like Virginia, Villanova and Duke, as well as the defending champions, North Carolina.

    The week 1 AP Top 25 offers little change in top 5, with Alabama and Clemson retaining their 1-2 spots, while Florida State, Ohio State and Michigan make minor advancements instead of Oklahoma and LSU, having huge falls after their losses. Houston rose to number 6 thanks to beating the Sooners, while Washington, Georgia and Wisconsin join Stanford to complete the top 10, while Florida were the only team that won and still dropped from the rankings.

    The College Football season is over with Alabama as national champions, which gives them the number one spot on the final rankings, followed by runners-up Clemson at number two, Rose Bowl champions Stanford at number three and Ohio State, probably the second best team in the country at least, settling for the Fiesta Bowl and the number four spot. Navy and Western Kentucky make rare appearances in the AP Top 25, and the same goes for Houston and Iowa (despite the loss), finishing the season in the top 10.

    The week 7 rankings of the AP Poll give us a similar lead in the top 25 to the previous week, with Michigan State holding on to the number one spot and the top 3, which include Kansas at number two and Oklahoma at number three, is unchanged. Kentucky fall to number 12 after their loss while Duke fall to number 15.

    The AP Poll rankings don’t determine anything, but they still mean something, and following week 10 in the 2015 season, they put Clemson on top for the first time in 34 years, followed by Ohio State, Alabama, Baylor and Oklahoma State in the top 5. The Cowboys rising seven spots are the big winners of the week while Michigan State and TCU tumbled down eight spots, not to mention Toledo, Ole Miss and Texas A&M dropping out, replaced by Navy, Wisconsin and Northwestern.
