Three newcomers to the top 25, as Nebraska, San Diego State and Utah replace Iowa, Notre Dame and Oregon. Alabama maintain the top spot while Ohio State rise to number 2 and Louisville take over number 3. The rest of the top 7 remains unchanged, while Miami moving up 10 spots to number 15 is the biggest rise of the week. Both Oklahoma and Florida State dropped 11 spots.

  1. Alabama Crimson Tide (50 first place votes), 3-0: Stayed put following a huge 48-43 win on the road against Ole Miss, despite a big early deficit.
  2. Ohio State Buckeyes (4), 3-0: After beating Oklahoma 45-24, the Buckeyes moved up one spot.
  3. Louisville Cardinals (6), 3-0: Skyrocketed up 7 spots, thanks to a now famous 63-20 win over Florida State, including five touchdowns by Lamar Jackson.
  4. Michigan Wolverines (1), 3-0: After trailing early against Colorado, the Wolverines came back to win 45-28, staying where they were the week before.
  5. Clemson Tigers, 3-0: Wins over South Carolina State, even if it’s 59-0, don’t impress anyone.
  6. Houston Cougars, 3-0: Overcame a tricky road game in Cincinnati, beating the Bearcats 40-16, not moving a spot.
  7. Stanford Cardinal, 2-0: Didn’t move, despite a 27-10 home win over USC.

  10. Texas A&M Aggies, 3-0: The Aggies opened their SEC schedule with a 29-16 win at Auburn, moving up 7 spots.
