So what did we have among the top 25 teams on Saturday of January 16? Kansas and Oklahoma not impressing but avoiding more Big 12 losses, Notre Dame upsetting Duke, Maryland crushing Ohio State, North Carolina cruising past North Carolina State and Kentucky losing again, this time to Auburn, which shouldn’t be that big of a surprise.

2016 College Basketball Season: Preseason Rankings
Despite being quite a way from their most recent success, North Carolina are crowned as the preseason number one team, with Kentucky, Maryland, Kansas and defending national champions Duke completing the top 5. Wisconsin, last year’s national title game losers, are in at number 17.

College Basketball: Final Rankings of the 2013-2014 Season
The end to the 2014 NCAA Tournament means the end of the College Basketball season as well, and final rankings being handed out. Traditionally, the national champions, UConn, get the number one spot with the losers in the final, Kentucky, taking the runner-up position, although it’s probably clear to most they weren’t the best teams in the country.

2014 College Basketball Season – Week 6 Rankings
Despite struggling against UNLV at home, Arizona dominated the polls and landed its first top spot in a decade thanks to their 9-0 record and wins over Duke and San Diego State earlier on. The Wildcats lead a foursome with an undefeated record – Syracuse, Ohio State and Wisconsin.
