Chicago Bulls – Still Looking for That go to Guy
For one night, it was Marco Belinelli, who finished in double digits for only the fourth time this season. You never know where it’s going to come from in the case of the Chicago Bulls. Luol Deng, who struggles coping with the main guy role, is the favorable option for the team. Joakim Noah can be one once in a while, but that’s not his thing. Carlos Boozer? No one really expects much from him these days.

Boston Celtics – Great to Have Rajon Rondo Back

It’s not like he was gone a long time; Rajon Rondo was only suspended for two games. Still, the Boston Celtics did lose twice in the 2.5 games he missed, so having him back for yet another double double (his 11th of the season) was pretty good news to have, while Kevin Garnett his best imitation of a tough guy against his former team.

Floyd Mayweather – Planning Two Fights in 2013

While still remaining silent himself about his future plans, Floyd Mayweather is already sending out his advisers to spread the news: the king of boxing is back, not exactly in these words. It does mean that if everything goes according to plan, Mayweather is hoping to fight twice in 2013, with certain dates already in mind.

New York Jets – What Will it Take to Bench Mark Sanchez

Last week was supposed to be a turning point; Mark Sanchez got benched in favor of Greg McElroy, and the New York Jets actually won in one of the ugliest games of football this NFL season. Well, that’s not enough to cost Sanchez his starting job, set up to start behind center when the Jets take on the Jacksonville Jaguars.

911 Call From the Jovan Belcher Murder-Suicide

It’s been five days since Jovan Belcher murdered his girlfriend Kasandra Perkins, following that by driving to Arrowhead stadium and committing suicide in front of Kansas City Chiefs GM Scott Pioli, Romeo Crennel and LB coach Gary Gibbs. Authorities released the 911 call placed by Belcher’s mother, Cheryl Shepherd, while Belcher was already gone from the scene.

Arsenal FC – Thierry Henry Isn’t the Answer

Once again, Arsene Wenger and Arsenal turn to a sentimental source that answers some of their fans’ woes instead of actually tending to their real problems. A year older, slower and anything else you want to add, Thierry Henry is on his way to another loan spell in somewhat of a vacation from his American life.

Champions League – All 16 Teams in the Knockout Stage

Of the final 16 teams that made it out of the group stage in the 2012-2013 Champions League and into the knockout round, we have 4 teams from Spain (Barcelona, Malaga, Real Madrid, Valencia), 3 from Germany (Bayern, Dortmund, Schalke), 2 from England (Arsenal, Manchester United), 2 from Italy (Juventus, Milan) and 1 from France (PSG), Portugal (Porto), Ukraine (Shakhtar), Scotland (Celtic) and Turkey (Galatasaray).

Manchester United – Wayne Rooney Can’t Make Subs Better

It was a strange approach from Alex Ferguson and Manchester United on their final group stage match of the Champions League this season, clinching qualification a month ago. Wayne Rooney gets to play, maybe to sharpen his finishing and passing before the big derby this weekend, while everyone around him, including Javier Hernandez, probably won’t be playing in the match of the season.

Chelsea FC – Fernando Torres is Back, Eden Hazard Isn’t

You take what you get, and although the last Champions League evening of the seasons ended in a predictable way for Chelsea (A win that’s not enough to qualify), there were enough good moments to feel happy about and build upon. Like Fernando Torres breaking his goal drought, something Eden Hazard needs to do soon if this team is to rise from its current situation.
