FIFA Coach of the Year Candidates
It’s not all about the Ballon d’Or; Coaches get their chance at an award as well, as FIFA released their shortlist with the candidates for the 2012 FIFA coach of the year. While the trophy winners are Vicente del Bosque and Roberto Di Matteo from this past year; Jose Mourinho is the highest profile champion, someone like Jurgen Klopp should win this award for what he’s done with Dortmund.

The list for the nominees for the 2012 Ballon d’Or award were released by FIFA, with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the obvious candidates to win this one, while Real Madrid beat Barcelona in terms of number of players on this list and no one really came close to Spain on the international front.

Whether Mark Clattenburg used racist language against Chelsea players remains to be seen, or at least the FA version of what happened into those events. What is certain is that the 37 year old referee made a mess of things in favor of Manchester United, and not for the first time.

10 Oldest NBA Players
The list of the ten oldest players beginning the 2012-2013 NBA season has a few certain future hall of fame inductees on it, like Tim Duncan, Steve Nash, Ray Allen and Jason Kidd. There are two players over the age of 40, Grant Hill and Kurt Thomas but the most impressive fact is the New York Knicks having four of these players, including Rasheed Wallace coming out of retirement.

Roger Federer – Needs to Play Less to be at his Best
Age creeps up on you in mysterious ways. Roger Federer had somewhat of resurgence this year, winning Wimbledon for the first time in three years and added three more Masters titles to his resume. But fitness and staying fresh have been problems for him, as the world number one decided to skip the Masters in Paris in order to be fit and ready for the ATP Tour Finals in London.

Dallas Cowboys – Dez Bryant Again Doesn’t Help Tony Romo
For the second time in three weeks, it was Dez Bryant that Tony Romo found in the end zone with a chance to make a big play in the final seconds. Last time, Bryant couldn’t hang on to the ball. This time, he simply landed a matter of two inches, with his fingers, beyond the line; instead of beating the New York Giants, they Dallas Cowboys are 3-4 and moving on to face the only undefeated team in the NFL.

Each week brings something different to lead the Atlanta Falcons to victory. This time, it was an offense led by Matt Ryan that simply could do no wrong against a helpless Philadelphia Eagles defense, as the Falcons scored on their first six possessions before punting for the first time with 5:35 left, on their way to a 30-17.
