Another week, another South Africa loss in Oceania, this time in the usual killing ground of Brisbane, where the Springboks have never fared well. Exhausted, going into their fourth week away from home, they couldn’t handle the fresh Australian, losing 30-13, their third consecutive loss since the beginning of the tournament.
Australia now host New Zealand (2 wins), next week in Melbourne, while the Springboks head home to lick their wounds and get ready for the All-Blacks visit on August 21.
