The first day of Champions League matches in gameweek 4 gave us Real Madrid remaining perfect with a narrow 1-0 win over Liverpool, while Arsenal managed to mess up a three goal lead and an easy win over Anderlecht, somehow only leaving the match with a draw.
Juventus 3 Olympiakos 2: An entertaining and slightly crazy match in Turin. Juventus took the lead with a brilliant free kick from Andrea Pirlo, followed by an immediate equalizer by Alberto Botia. The Greek champions took the lead in the 61st minute through Delvin Ndinga, but an own goal by Roberto Gago and a winner from Paul Pogba a minute later put Juve back in an excellent position to finish in the top two.
Malmo 0 Atletico Madrid 2: The Spanish champions complete a 7-0 aggregate win over Malmo, with goals from Koke and Raul Garcia to make it easy for them.
Basel 4 Ludogorets 0: An excellent win for the Swiss champions, scoring twice in the first half (Breel Embolo, Derlis Gonzalez) and twice in the second half (Gashy, Suchy) to put themselves as favorites to finish second.
Real Madrid 1 Liverpool 0: Real Madrid remain perfect with 12 points from 12 possible thanks to a Karim Benzema goal in the first half. Liverpool were actually better in the final 30 minutes but struggled creating chances.
Benfica 1 Monaco 0: A hugely important win for Benfica to keep their hopes alive, with Anderson Talisca scoring in the 82nd minute to deliver the 3 points.
Zenit 1 Leverkusen 2: A big win for Leverkusen, putting themselves two points from clinching a spot in the next round. Son Heung-Min scored twice in nine minutes during the second half, making Jose Rondon’s goal in the 89th minute redundant.

Arsenal 3 Anderlecht 3: Somehow Arsenal failed to win a match that was in their grasp. Mikel Arteta (penalty), Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain gave them a three goal lead by the 58th minute. Anthony Vanden Borre with a brace (61, 73) and a 90th minute goal by Aleksandar Mitrovic created the sensational result.
Dortmund 4 Galatasaray 1: Dortmund forgot about their league problems and scored four past Galatasaray for the second time in a row. Marco Reus, Sokratis, Ciro Immobile and an own goal gave Dortmund their four goal lead, Hakan Balta scored for the poor visitors.
