There’s never been too much to expect from Auburn in basketball, especially when you compare it to the success the football program has had over the years. And still, it’s quite rare when a school completely fails in its two flag sports, as the Tigers finished 14th in the SEC in both the recent College Basketball season and the football year. More
The three most recruited states in College Football are Florida, California and Texas. No one recruits better beyond state lines than Bob Stoops and Oklahoma, with a strong foothold in Texas. Nick Saban and Alabama do great about everywhere while other schools like Clemson, Oregon and Ohio State do very well beyond borderlines as well. More
Surprise, surprise, the SEC rule this one as well. Not the top school, which belongs to the only Big 12 program on this list (Texas, way beyond the rest), but owning 7 spots along the way. It’s all quiet, for now, from the Auburn chiefs after the 2012 season hit another low point. Gene Chizik is going to try and throw probably the last thing he has in his bag of tricks, starting freshman quarterback Jonathan Wallace in what looks like a hopeless attempt to somehow change the momentum of a horrendous season. This is what you call a cash cow. The college football programs of the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn Tigers mean a lot of money to the state of Alabama, with some estimating the tow schools and bitter rivals’ impact to be around $500 million in annual economic impact. More
The best photos from week 13 in College Football, aka rivalry week, as Oregon and Auburn kept the top spots while the Aggies ruined it for Texas, Oklahoma (as underdogs!) complicated things with their win at Bedlam, Florida State fally beat Urban Meyer and Ohio State, as usual, didn’t go easy on Michigan.
Another week with its share of upsets, here are the best pictures from Week 7 in College Football. More
