All 4 English clubs advanced to the quarter finals, with 3 of those victories coming over Italian teams.
The Champions League matches this week showed us once again that English soccer rules. All 4 English clubs advanced to the quarter finals, with 3 of those victories coming over Italian teams. Platini and Blatter are not really happy about all this, be assured, with their continental snobby attitude towards the English game blinding them and not allowing them to see where the winds have blown and who rules European soccer, at club level at least. The best teams, players, coaches and yes, the best soccer itself, is located today south of Scotland and north of France. The most impressive of those games was no doubt Liverpool’s Demolition of Real Madrid, a glorious 4-0 victory that sent the Blancos home torn apart and causing turbulence at Santiago Bernabeu which seemed to have resided the past 3 months following their fantastic winning streak. Despite the Blanco’s woes, this night was about Liverpool. The team played a flawless 1st half, not allowing Real to a single good shot at goal and just constantly embarrassing their defense which was self proclaimed by people in the club itself as the best in the world(short pause for laughter if you wish…). No need to analyze the game and all it’s heroes, but lets just give any one who loves Liverpool, Barcelona or just hates Madrid another chance to watch this amazing amazing night in Anfield, which may give Liverpool’s players some belief as they head into Old Trafford this Weekend for their last chance to try and stay alive in the Championship race that seems to be becoming one headed more and more as the season comes to an end.
