No change in the top 7 of the rankings following week 4, with Alabama, Ohio State (without playing), Louisville, Michigan, Clemson, Houston and Stanford staying put. Wisconsin enter the top 10 for the first time this season, Ole Miss enjoy the biggest rise after beating Georgia, who had the biggest drop of all, 13 spots. LSU and Oklahoma (without playing) dropped from the rankings, in a week when all four ranked teams that lost did so against other ranked teams. More

Week 2 of the college football season was supposed to simple: Only two real threats of upsetting ranked teams, and plenty of easy games for the rest. Teams like Alabama, Ohio State and Michigan made it look easy. Others, like Georgia and Clemson struggled with some very weak opponents, which could hurt them in the rankings. Others, like TCU and especially Oklahoma State, fell into the upset trap, which will probably move them from the polls, at least for one week. More

2016 College Football Season: Upsets, Blowouts & Rankings Effect

Posted on 4 Sep, 2016, by in College Football

An interesting (and too spread out) opening weekend to the 2016 season in college football, with LSU stunned by unranked Wisconsin, Houston doing the game to Oklahoma, while USC suffered one of the worst losses in school history, by making the mistake and agreeing to meet Alabama on neutral ground. Obviously, rankings are going to shift due to some of these results, although it is just week 1. More

Posted on 4 Feb, 2016, by in College Football

The question of the winner on National Signing Day is usually revealed a year, two or even three after it happens. But for now, it’s all about the number of good players you’ve signed. Florida State seem to have had the most impressive of recruiting classes, followed by Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Ohio State and Michigan, at least according to the ESPN rankings. More
