A lot of players seem to be on the verge of leaving Chelsea, and after mentioning Ashley Cole the other day, Daniel Sturridge looks like the next player to be mentioned regarding a potential departure, with Liverpool and Tottenham lining up while Chelsea consider bringing in Falcao in January.

The price? Sources say Chelsea are looking for a £20 million offer from the two clubs who are after the same players these past few months, with the bidding hopefully starting at £15. While Spurs are pleased with their recent form and scoring options, with Jermain Defore having a brilliant start to the season, things are quite different for Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers is left with only one viable striker, Luis Suarez, as Andy Carroll is loaned to West Ham and Fabio Borini suffers from a broken leg, which will keep him out of the action for a while. Rodgers recently said that he believes he’ll be getting funds in January to upgrade the squad, with a striker to add some depth and options seemingly the first issue on the board.

But £20 million? Seems like quite a lot to ask for a player that did have a good first half to last season, eventually ending up with 11 league goals in 30 matches, but losing his place in the lineup once Roberto Di Matteo became the manager. The same reason plus some injury problems have kept him out of all the matches this season, aside from the Community shield match and coming on as a sub in league play. He has 25 goals in 87 Premier League matches.

The 23 year old player has been capped for England five times, and has also played for the Great Britain team in the London Olympics, scoring two goals. His ability to play as a winger, usually on the right side while cutting into the middle with his left looks like something that could be quite useful playing in the current Liverpool system, but as we’ve said, the price seems extremely high. Chelsea got him for free when he left Manchester City in 2009.
