In the midst of the worst season of his career, Wayne Rooney scored what is probably his greatest goal since that one against Arsenal when he was still an Everton man and also one of the more important ones he’ll score this season.

It was another lackluster but hard working performance from Manchester United’s no. 10, but the way he met a Nani cross in the 77th minute, executing a perfect scissor kick to give Manchester United the 2-1 lead and eventual win over Manchester City in the Manchester derby will probably earn him a spot in the FIFA awards ceremony come December. A league title would also be nice.
