Conference Realignment – The New Big East
College Football tore the old Big East apart, with the conference to be wiped away from the slate, renamed into something else, possibly the America 12. In basketball, we’ll have a Big East, a new Big East; a combination of the Catholic 7 (Georgetown, Providence, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Villanova, Marquette and DePaul), and three new schools joining the conference; Butler, Xavier and Creighton, making it quite the mid-major powerhouse.

NFL Rumors – Eli Manning Contract Key to Keeping Victor Cruz With New York Giants
Being a restricted free agent in the NFL usually means a few weeks of nothing happening during the off-season before eventually signing with your old team. Still, the Victor Cruz contract negotiations have been going on for quite a while, the New York Giants and their star receiver aren’t really closer to getting a deal done. Nothing lasts forever, especially in the NFL, where team-player loyalty doesn’t exist; it’s all about production and money. Ed Reed left the Baltimore Ravens after 11 seasons to the Houston Texans, while Brian Urlacher, a 13-year veteran with the Chicago Bears, will play for someone else next season.

On Geno Smith and Becoming (Or Not) a Successful NFL Quarterback
There’s really no way of telling if someone is going to be great in the NFL, especially not with quarterbacks. Geno Smith was on an amazing run for the first half of his final season with West Virginia, looking like the best in the nation at his position. He’s hoping that those five weeks are what stick in the minds of those who will determine his fate and place in the next NFL draft

How the New East-West Divisions Will Look Like in the Big Ten
After a few seasons of going with a Leaders and Legends divisions as part of the expansion of the Big Ten, the ongoing conference realignment struck a bit more sense into those running the conference, going with a geographical split in 2014, with renaming and a bit of shuffling around into East and West divisions.

NFL Rumors – San Francisco 49ers & New Orleans Saints Waiting For Nnamdi Asomugha
Everyone knows that the last couple of years weren’t the best for Nnamdi Asomugha, one of the first names you think about when the Philadelphia Eagles’ failures on the field and with the contracts they dealt come up. Still, at 31 and with certain pluses that are rare at the position, he’s drawing a lot of interest from the San Francisco 49ers and the New Orleans Saints, waiting for him to make the decision.

NFL Rumors – Denver Broncos Offer Elvis Dumervil a Contract
The fax saga is about to be over, hopefully for both Elvis Dumervil and the Denver Broncos, as the team has offered their recently released (by mistake) player a new contract, hoping that this time it goes a little bit more smoothly
