Real Madrid – Cristiano Ronaldo Needs to Finish Better

It might be absurd to ask Cristiano Ronaldo, already scoring 8 league goals this season, to do a better job at finishing than he has so far, but Real Madrid seem to be so bad this season when it comes to finishing the chances they are able to create, be it Alvaro Morata or Karim Benzema in the starting lineup, it once again falls on the shoulder of their best player.

Chelsea FC – Eden Hazard Enjoys Terrible Refereeing

Despite the impressive scoreline, Chelsea were far from it in a home match that should have gone down as a more comfortable afternoon. Instead they relied on Samuel Eto’o cheating and Eden Hazard making the most of referee Anthony Taylor not seeing clearly or simply not knowing the rule book too well.

Arsenal FC – Mathieu Flamini More Important Than Mesut Ozil

Without Mesut Ozil, Arsenal aren’t sudden title contenders and league leaders in the Premier League, but they weren’t exactly short on creativity in the midfield before his arrival. However, bringing back Mathieu Flamini gave the team a real defensive midfielder and not a converted one for the first time in a very long while, happening to be the biggest reason for their success this season.

Liverpool FC – Sturridge & Suarez Need Coutinho Back

There are going to bumps in the road for this Liverpool team on their way to a better season than what we’ve seen from them in recent years. However, the flourishing partnership between Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge isn’t going to be enough to keep up the pace with the rest of the big names if the creativity and passing skills of Philippe Coutinho aren’t back from injury anytime soon.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic With the Taekwondo Flick Goal

The endless collection of beautiful and creative goals by Zlatan Ibrahimovic got another piece of memorabilia, as the best striker in the world scored one of his best ever by using his long legs and quick thinking to flick the ball in what has already been dubbed a Taekwondo move to open the scoring for PSG in their 4-0 win over Bastia.

Jack Wilshere With the Team Goal of the Season

Arsenal are firing on all cylinders at the moment, as proven by their very comfortable 4-1 win over Norwich and remaining at the top of the Premier League. But it’s not just wins – it’s ability, flair and creativity oozing out of their attacking players, demonstrated perfectly in the opening goal by Jack Wilshere, coming after some brilliant passing between himself, Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla.

Premier League – Week 8 Results & Table

No change at the top of the table with Arsenal keeping on their winning ways and impressing in their beating of Norwich, while Chelsea, in an impressive comeback win over Cardiff City, improve to second place in the Premier League table, show that despite all the criticism of what Jose Mourinho has done so far, they’re on the right path.

David Moyes Can’t Stop Failing (Manchester United vs Southampton)

Manchester United can’t catch a break, but they also can’t seem to actually play well at home, being outclassed by a tactical, smart and aggressive Southampton team, rewarded for their efforts by a late equalizer from Dejan Lovren, who was excellent almost all day long by marking Robin van Persie, who escaped one time too many to score the opening goal in the 1-1 draw.

Luis Suarez Isn’t Enough Against 10 Men (Newcastle vs Liverpool)

Finishing with two assists – once setting up a penalty kick and getting a Newcastle player sent off, later finding Daniel Sturridge for another equalizing goal, and getting a chance to win the game with a dramatic free kick wasn’t enough for Luis Suarez to come off the pitch as a winner as Liverpool ended their visit to St. James’ Park in a 2-2 draw despite playing for 48 minutes with one player more.

Stefan Kiessling Scores a Goal That Doesn’t Exist (Hoffenheim vs Leverkusen)

Felix Brych might be demoted to a regional German league or never referee a match again after his horror show in the 2-1 Leverkusen win over Hoffenheim, which included allowing a Stefan Kiessling goal that didn’t even hit the target, disallowing a completely valid Hoffenheim goal and then giving the home side a penalty kick that shouldn’t have been awarded, although it was missed.
