Bundesliga – Bayern Munich Feel Normal, Dortmund Slightly Worried

It’s not the first time Dortmund have been upset at home, but it’s been a long time since Die Schwarzgelben have found it so difficult to dominate a match they’re hosting or creating an abundance of chances. For Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga didn’t come with a perfect start, but good enough to not be too concerned about anything.

Arsenal FC – Olivier Giroud Isn’t Useless After All

Deep down inside, Arsene Wenger wishes he had a better striker than Olivier Giroud. However, on the current Arsenal team, he is the best he’s got, which is weird (or not, depending on how familiar you are with the French manager’s logic) he’d put himself with his back against the wall until opting to use the forward to save himself from the first loss of the season.

Real Madrid – Cristiano Ronaldo is Still a Dirty Player

There is more than one side to Cristiano Ronaldo. He is an amazing footballer, maybe the best in the world right now, but sometimes he can’t hold his uglier side inside, resulting in behavior that shouldn’t be seen on a football pitch, like him hitting Diego Godin during the Supercopa match between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Match Highlights – Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid

One goal after only five minutes was enough for Atletico Madrid, through Mario Mandzukic, to claim their first title of the season with a 1-0 win over Real Madrid and 2-1 in aggregate, winning the Supercopa de España for only the second time.

Liverpool FC – Mario Balotelli is Too Big of a Risk

There’s no argument that Liverpool are in need of another striker, but taking a risk on Mario Balotelli and signing him from AC Milan might be too big of one, and might end up backfiring for a young manager and team that more or less are on the right path to solidify long term success.

Real Madrid – James Rodriguez is a Breath of Fresh Air

There’s something about Real Madrid that makes them look tired after just one season together. A new superstar has to be purchased each summer to keep things interesting. The Cristiano Ronaldo-Gareth Bale combination looked quite bad in the Spanish Super Cup, but the entrance of James Rodriguez in the second half did bring the team a new dimension of mobility, creativity and eventually a goal.
