Ty Lawson and his Amazing Three Point Shooting Night

Almost perfect. Ten from eleven, not bad at all. Ty Lawson went bonkers last night, leading the Denver Nuggets to a 130-106 thrashing over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Beating the Wolves this or any season for that matter isn’t the big deal. Lawson had a career high 37 points with 7 rebounds and six assists.

The biggest news however was his three points shooting – Lawson hit 10 tre’s, making his first ten attempts. He is the first player in NBA history to make his first ten three point attempts. Funny thing is Lawson’s career high in three pointers was only three prior to this game. Quite a leap.

Onward with the records – His ten 3’s are a season high, beating three players, including teammate J.R. Smith, who had 9 kind of night. By the way, J.R. Smith is the only player during the last 25 years with two 10 three pointers nights. Actually he made 11 back in 2009 against the Sacramento Kings.
