Top Ten Blocks of the 2010-2011 NBA Season

Yesterday it was dunks, today we’re with the blocks – the top 10 rejections this season in the NBA.

10 – Glen Davis (Boston Celtics) on Tyrus Thomas (Charlotte Bobcats)

In this LSU style collision, Big Baby comes out on top.

9 – Kyle Lowry (Houston Rockets) on Mike Conley (Memphis Grizzlies)

Lowry actually began his NBA career with the Grizzlies but reserved no sentiments for them and their point guard on this play.

8 – Emeka Okafor (New Orleans Hornets) Double Take on Splitter (San Antonio Spurs)

Okafor is 10th in the NBA this season with 1.8 blocks per game, here blocking the Spurs’ Tiago Splitter twice.

7 – LeBron James (Miami Heat) on Ronny Turiaf (New York Knicks)

LeBron James seemed to take another step in becoming a defensive juggernaut this season. The blocks were always there, and here is his fantastic rejection against the Knicks’ Turiaf in a season he recorded his lowest number of blocks since he started his NBA career.

6 – Ray Allen (Boston Celtics) on Tyson Chandler (Dallas Mavericks)

When a guard blocks a center it always looks great. When a rarity like Ray Allen getting a block happens, it has to be among the year’s top defensive highlights.

5 – J.J. Hickson (Cleveland Cavaliers) on Blake Griffin (Los Angeles Clippers)

Blake Griffin made a huge impact this year, especially on the highlights films and youtube. Naturally, anytime he actually got stopped while going for a dunk, it would be quite a breathtaking moment.

4 – Javale McGee (Washington Wizards) on Blake Griffin (Clippers)

Again Blake Griffin getting rejected, this time by the man he beat in the dunk contest (unfairly in my opinion, but putting on a show counts more than actual quality of dunking I guess).

3 – Javale McGee (Washington Wizards) on Wade and Bosh (Miami Heat)

Javale McGee again – this time showing his blocking abilities against the Miami Heat, stopping both Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade.

1 – Sasha Pavlovic (New Orleans Hornets back then) on Sebastien Telfair (Timberwolves)
