The Rams going to the Super Bowl will sink in and become more of a headline in a few days, but as the storm from their visit to the Saints and overtime win still hasn’t subsided, it’s the pass interference that’s ruling the news stream. Sure, it was an awful, awful call, but what about bad calls that went the Saints way?
Regardless of who got screwed more by the officials, it’s time the NFL revamps the challenging systems, especially when pass interferences are so often a matter of debate. It usually takes a big playoff controversy to change things, and it happening to a team it seemed a lot of people wanted to see in the Super Bowl is a good sign this offseason rules will indeed shift.
Overall, not the best of games – the Saints started hot and then faded away, partially because of bad playcalling. Sean McVay, the league’s coaching golden boy, is going to the Super Bowl, prompting even more teams around the league to look for a McVay-like coach.
