Floyd Mayweather has so much on his plate these days he can’t keep his mouth shut about it. Trying to bring some attention to himself after a long time out of the ring prior to his fight with Victor Ortiz next week, Mayweather isn’t shutting up about Manny Pacquiao. Now he’s found someone else to talk about – Amir Khan.
Well, in his defense, Khan’s main focus since beating Zab Judah is moving up the weight division and getting a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2012. According to Khan, he has one more fight in the 140 lbs weight class, probably against Lamont Peterson, before he moves on to bigger and better.
Well, Mayweather, who keeps insisting his fight with Pacquiao won’t happen because he feels that Pac-Man doesn’t truly want to fight him, has terms for the IBF and WBA Light Welterweight champion.
Once Amir Khan faces the future of boxing, which is Jessie Vargas, my fighter, Amir Khan has a fight with Floyd Mayweather, but he must face Jessie Vargas first. Mayweather, besides being an undefeated champion, well former champion, has his own boxing company, the originally named – Mayweather Promotions.
Jessie Vargas is a 22 year old, Light Welterweight fighter who’s 16-0 so far in his career. He’s already 3-0 in 2011 and will fight next week against Josesito Lopez (29-3) prior to the Mayweather – Ortiz fight. According to Mayweather, who isn’t biased at all, he’s the next big things. And he wants his boy to get a primetime chance against a rising boxer like Khan. Why not act like it’s the WWE and say he’ll only fight him if he fights him (you know what I mean, right)?
Mayweather, to defend his suggestion and term, says the Khan’s win over Zab Judah didn’t really impress him – He’s fought a Zab Judah who I fought six years ago. I fought a young, strong, hungry Zab Judah and he fought a Zab Judah that’s a lot older, but we want Amir Khan to fight Jessie Vargas, we’re looking for that fight. If Amir Khan gets past Jessie Vargas, then Amir Khan has a fight with Floyd Mayweather.
Hey, if you can do good business while juggling between rebuiliding your career while trash talking future opponents, half trying to avoid them it seems sometime while also promoting your own protege and making money just for opening your mouth – Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the man you should be looking up to.
