Roger Federer’s been here before, this year even. He’s already dropped a two set lead in Wimbledon against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. He to his revenge a couple of days ago, hammering the Frenchman. This time, against Novak Djokovic, it hurt much more, very clear from Federer’s reactions in the press conference after the Semi Final.

In the 2010 US Open Federer was in a similar situation, wasting away a match point against Novak Djokovic in the Semi Final, falling to a huge forehand from the Serb. This year? Deja vu. Two match points, serving for the match. Again, Novak Djokovic just gave it everything he got, and came out winning.

Federer didn’t seem impressed. He never seemed to like Djokovic too much, and the ending to this match didn’t help. Federer, disappointed and a bit angry, with himself and with the world, refused to acknowledge that Djokovic was better than him or anything like that. The type of questions he was asked, to analyze aspects of the match while still in some sort of shock.
