The Packers opened the weekend with a thrilling win over the Saints, proving they just might be the team to beat again this year. The Ravens looked highly impressive as well in their dismantling of the Steelers while Tom Brady saved his best for Monday Night Football with 517 yards explosion in highly entertaining quarterback duel.

Drew Brees threw for 419 yards and 3 TD, Aaron Rodgers finished with 312 yard and 3 TD

Indianapolis Colts 7 Houston Texasn 31 

The Texas hammered the Colts who looked helpless without Peyton Manning. Ben Tate ran for 116 yards and a touchdown.

Dallas Cowboys 24 New York Jets 27

Tony Romo threw for 342 yards and two TD, but also a late interception, setting up the winning field goal for the Jets.

Atlanta Falcons 12 Chicago Bears 30

A lot of people expected Atlatna to be one of the major forces in the NFC this season. The Bears’ defense haunted Matt Ryan and gave Jay Cutler enough to work with.

Cincinnati Bengals 27 Cleveland Browns 17

A big fourth quarter from the Bengals (14-0) gave them a surprising win in the Ohio derby. Cedric Benson carried  the load with 121 yards and a TD.

Buffalo Bills 41 Kansas City Chiefs 7

The Chiefs suffered their worst home loss in 35 years in one of the biggest upsets of week 1. Fred Jackson ran for 112 yards and Ryan Fitzpatrick threw 4 touchdown passes.

Michael Vick threw two TD, including one to DeSean Jackson who finished with 102 yards. Vick ran for 98 yards while LeSean McCoy ran for 122 and scored a touchdown.

An impressive Matthew Stafford display with 305 yards, 3 TD and one interception, connecting with 8 different receivers and twice with Calvin Johnson for the points.

Tennessee Titans 14 Jacksonville Jaguars 16

Matt Hasselbeck’s debut for the Titans didn’t go so well as he had no run support (Chris Johnson with 24 yards only). Maurice Jones Drew ran for the Jags’ only TD.

Pittsburgh Steelers 7 Baltimore Ravens 35

The stamp down of the first week – The Ravens forced 7 turnovers, including three interceptions from Big Ben. Joe Flacco threw 3 TD passes and Ray Rice finished with 150 yards in scrimmage and two TD, one on the ground.

Cam Newton had an amazing debut (422 yards, 2 TD, one interception) but not enough against Kevin Kolb (309 yards, 2 TD) and a big game from Beanie Wells (90 yards, 1 TD).

A rough day for Phillip Rivers (2 TD, 2 INT) and a terrible day for Donovan McNabb (7-15, 39 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 47.9 QB rating) as Mike Tolbert scored three touchdowns for the Chargers in air and on the ground.

Jim Harbaugh went with Alex Smith and actually won, as Ted Ginn Jr. scored two TD from kick and Punt returns.

Rex Grossman shined for the Redskins with 305 yards and 2 TD passes while Eli Manning struggled again witn no passes for points and an interception.

New England Patriots 38 Miami Dolphins 24

NFL records night, as the two teams combined for 906 net yards, a new NFL record. Tom Brady stood out with 517 (!!!) yards and 4 TD passes, including one 99 yard pass to Wes Welker.

Oakland Raiders 23 Denver Broncos 20

Sebastian Janikowski’s 63 yard field goal was the highlight of the Raiders’ ugly win over the Broncos as Kyle Orton failed to impress and Tim Tebow’s name got thrown around again.
