Floyd Mayweather and His Radio Feuding

Floyd Mayweather can’t stand not being in the headlines, or maybe it’s boxing pundits not being able to be without Mayweather. It’s Manny Pacquiao’s week as he gets ready to fight Juan Manuel Marquez, but Floyd Mayweather’s weird Radio “interview” is making a bigger splash on the World Wide Web.

A few days ago people from the Mayweather camp announced that he’s got a date set at the MGM Grand for a May 5 fight. All sources and rumors talking about Mayweather wanting the biggest fight and payday possible lead us very quickly to assume that the Manny Pacquiao fight might finally be on the cards.

A day later, Bob Arum, Manny Pacquiao’s promoter, said that Mayweather won’t be fighting Manny and the whole idea is a joke. He made it clear that as far as he knows, Mayweather doesn’t want anything to do with Manny Pacquiao.

Now comes the whole debate? Is Floyd Mayweather actually afraid of Manny Pacquiao? Afraid to let his undefeated record get tarnished? Or is it just easy to hate Mayweather? Simply because he has a big mouth, isn’t the nicest guy (probably) outside the ring, doesn’t have the most attractive boxing style in the world?

Mayweather calls up Rude Jude of Splash 45, radio talk. It very quickly goes downhill. Rude Jude accused Mayweather of ducking Pacquiao, and Mayweather immediately goes into the defensive. He very quickly turns it into a racial matter, but never really answers the questions about fighting Manny, not wanting to and anything around it. He keeps talking about the undefeated record (like that’s what people will remember) and the would-be conversation quickly becomes a jungle of slurs and trash talking.

It’s better to listen to it and make your mind for yourselves.

  1. I think Flyod is doing the right thing if all eyes opinions are on how Flyod just want’s to keep a undefeated record. The Professional boxing League is all that it’s cracked up to be, not taking anything from not even the smallest of the professtionals.feeling good about being undisputed is an escense of being a champion.

    • @chris Maybe Floyd is taking a little too much heat, but he isn’t doing himself any favors with his actions, words, and in general, keeping the perception that it’s his fault that the Pacquiao fight isn’t happening.

  2. I heard that interview on shade 45 Sirius radio Its funny how mayweather was quick to pull the race card on rude Jude mayweather ducking manny

  3. Actually it was the radio host that was being racist. Its people like this radio show host that are the reason why this fights not happening. Theyre putting all the pressure on mayweather instead of pacquiou when they really should be criticizing pacquiou for coming up with the dumbest most ignorant and childish excuses imaginable about why he doesn’t want to take the drug test with mayweather. Maybe paquiaou would have grown up by now and signed the contract but instead they making it easy for him to decline this simple simple request.

  4. I agree with eddoes. Racist people are using that race card bullshit at the wrong times when it doesn’t really support their case. He’s mayweather is using the race card when he himself is in fact clearly a racist.

  5. Mayweather is good entertainment! He should have a reality show as soon as he retires. He should have one at the moment, now that I think about it.

  6. Boxing is all abou business especially when you’re a champ. In this case Floyd chooses fights that would profit him and not tarnish his undefeated record at the same time.

  7. Rude jude sounds Like a hater if you ask me NO ONE can truly say why the fight hasnt happend in my HONEST opinion i think BOB ARUM has put a hold on the fight but thats just me.

  8. Rude Jude is a radio host who talks crap for a living. Getting a reaction from Floyd like this only makes him known, hated or not. But yeah I agree that promoters play a big part of this as well. I think the fight is going to happen but it’ll be a couple of years from now
