We haven’t heard many boxers speak out after the Manny Pacquiao – Juan Manuel Marquez fight 10 days ago, but you can count on Ricky Hatton to come forth quickly with an opinion about anything regarding the future Mayweather – Pacquiao fight.
The former Light Welterweight and Welterweight champion fought both fighters, losing to Mayweather in a 10th round TKO and 18 months later to Manny Pacquiao via a second round knockout. Still, from what he’s seen from Manny Pacquiao in his most recent fight, Hatton thinks Mayweather has the edge if the two ever meet in the ring – I know people really talk that fight up, and are really excited about it happening, but I actually think that though people are talking about it as one of the biggest fights of all time, it could actually be an anti-climax because it could be a wide points decision for Floyd over Manny.
Pacquiao repeatedly stepping into Marquez’ right hand and counter punches has more than just observers and fans in doubt whether Pacquiao can actually beat Mayweather, if actually should face him. Yes, there are the allegations of Marquez repeatedly stepping on Manny which took him out of his rythm, but still, the Pacquiao camp are worried, and in quarrel.
Bob Arum doesn’t want to risk his money-making fighter, and prefers putting him in a fourth fight with Marquez. It’s up to Manny, it seems, to finally tell Arum he wants no one else, just Mayweather, next. I thought Manny had problems with Marquez’s style and maybe he would always have problems with that style. Pacquiao is a pure fighter. On the strength of that contest and performance, it is hard to see how Manny would beat Floyd Mayweather if they actually ever meet in a ring.
Hatton describes Pacquiao as a pressure fighter, a constant aggressor. Mayweather? Slick counter puncher, the man with the best defense in the sport. From his experience, it’s going to be a big win for the American if the two finally meet in the ring.

That’s what Hatton was thinking before he fought Pacquiao. Same old crap. He got KO’d in 10th rounds by Mayweather and 2nd rounds by Pacquiao. Where’s the logic there? Maybe he’s till on drugs. lol
Drugs and Alcohol affected Ricky’s brain.. the guy admitted he almost killed himself after Manny beat his white arse.. now I think he keep praising Junior out of respect for his trainer the Senior.. Or now he gets up and decided to become a promoter– and the best way to be in business is to be in good term with Floydie..
Thats right, he’s drug F**ked, seeking business affiliations by predicting a fight outcome and worshipping the son of his respected former trainer. You retards will say anything to make your dungeons and dragons card better than my dungeons and dragons card. Hatton as a former champion who has fought both fighters gives his opinion and you have an emotional retard spasm. Well done.
