Adebayor gets his revenge, and Manchester City seem to be getting respect. They did beat Arsenal last season at home 3-0, but the rest of the season was inconsistent and disappointing. Now, with a four from four opening and another crushing of Arsene Wenger’s gunners, it looks like they’re legit and ready for the Manchester derby coming up. City were better in the first half, but needed a ball to bounce from the post on to Almunia’s head to lead in the first half.

The second half? Arsenal looked great, the flowing and fluid Arsenal, and deserved that Van Persie equalizer. Adebayor seemed more busy getting into fights and physical battles with Arsenal players. And then came Bellamy’s goal, and it was all over. Arsenal made it 4-2 and created quite a few chances in injury time, but Given, the post and Adebayor made sure the 3 points stayed at Eastlands.

Manuel Almunia (Own Goal), 20th minute

Robin Van Persie, 63rd minute

Craig Bellamy, 74th minute

Emmanuel Adebayor, 82nd minute

Shaun Wright-Phillips, 84th minute

Tomas Rosicky, 88th minute
