After two straight league defeats in Manchester, losing to both City and United, Arsenal came back home and had a much easier time against Wigan, easily dominating the entire 90 minutes and beating the visitors from up north 4-0.
Thomas Vermaelen scored two, Eduardo Da Silva scored the third – or maybe it was Eboue, depends on how you look at it, and Cesc Fabregas scored the final goal. Arsenal looked like they could score at any given moment while Wigan looked hopeless, kind of like their defeat against Man U a few weeks back. Robin Van Persie, despite the goal celebration by Arsenal continued his poor form and couldn’t find the net. At least he set up the first goal with his corner cross. Arsenal need more from their Dutch striker if they want to challenge for honors this season.
