Liverpool Win Third Straight, Beat West Ham 3-2

Not a great Liverpool performance, as it seemed going ahead twice wouldn’t be enough to secure three points at Upton Park, but Fernando Torres, grabbing a brace, gave Liverpool the win.

Fernando Torres opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 20th minute with a brilliant dribbling move that beat the West Ham defence and goalkeeper. Alessandro Diamnti equalized for West Ham after a very controversial penalty call 9 minutes later. Liverpool went up 2-1 from Dirk Kuyt, but Carlton Cole made it 2-2 just before the half time whistle. The Hammers were the better side in the second half, but Liverpool dug deep like in many games last season and like the Bolton game two weeks ago, and found the play that gave them the win. Title material? not yet, but at least the points are coming in a steady pace after a shaky start to the league.
