Again that injury time, again a Manchester United goal. This time it was an own goal by Anton Ferdinand, who had a fantastic 90 minutes previous to his touch on the ball that deflected Evra’s shot into Gordon’s goal, giving United a not so deserved point.

Still, this was United’s first loss of points at Old Trafford this season, and they weren’t far from suffering their first home defeat since that 4-1 thrashing by Liverpool last season. Darren Bent scored early (7th goal of the season) and United’s defence and actually the entire side looked lackluster and generally bad. When Vidic isn’t paired with Rio Ferdinand in the back (sat out), when Foster continues to play at goal while Van Der Sar is out, United fans aren’t safe from scares, even against inferior teams. Berbatov scored a brilliant equalizer in the second half, but Jones (5th goal of the season) put Sunderland ahead again less than 10 minutes later.

The expected United pressure came on stronger and stronger as the minutes went by, but not until Kieran Richardson stupidly caused himself to get sent off with a second yellow card did United really put on their famous last minutes blitz. They managed to score, but have now given Chelsea the oppurtunity to climb back to the top spot, if they beat Liverpool tomorrow.
