2012 NFL Season Opening Day Ticket Prices (Infographic)

The 2012 NFL Season begins on September 5, which means you have about two weeks to start saving your money (if you haven’t already have) for an opening day ticket or two, because there’s no way you’re not going to feel at least a little bit broke after forking over a few hundred dollars to enjoy an afternoon of football.

The average price around the league? $241.72 for an opening day ticket, although the average prices vary quite a bit between the different teams. The cheapest seats to be had are Minnesota Vikings nosebleed seats costing $29, with the average price for a ticket to the Metrodome on September 9 against the Jacksonville Jaguars being $124.67. The most expensive ticket to get on opening day?

A luxury suite at MetLife stadium as the Super Bowl champions, the New York Giants, take on the Dallas Cowboys on September 5 to officially open the new season. The average ticket price to a set for the Cowboys – Giants game will cost $526.92, edging the Chicago Bears by $1.19 for the highest ticket prices on opening day.

The highest average in the NFL? I guess the Broncos are trying to cash in on Peyton Manning’s debut plus the fact that the always interesting Pittsburgh Steelers are coming to town, with the average ticket for that game at Mile High is at $701.38, far ahead of everybody in the league. The New England Patriots are second in the AFC with $430.12 per ticket to their first home game on September 16 against the Arizona Cardinals.
