No change at the top of the college football world according to the AP Poll, as the top 16 teams from last week won or simply didn’t play. Alabama keeps on cruising (vs Tennesee) while Florida continue to pick up the most impressive wins, this time enhailiting the South Carolina Gamecocks, finding themselves out of the SEC race for good.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide, 7-0 (59 first place votes) – Alabama remain in the first place but for the first time in quite some time lost a vote in the poll after beating Tennessee 44-13.

2. Oregon Ducks – Remained at number 2 in the polls after a thursday night win over Arizona State, 43-21.

3. Florida Gators, 7-0 (1) – The best team in the SEC, without a doubt, getting their first 1st place vote of the season after another impressive home win, this time over the slipping South Carloina Gamecocks, 44-11.

4. Kansas State Wildcats (7-0) – Collin Klein showed everybody he can throw and accounted for 7 touchdowns by arm and by his feet, as Kansas State destroyed West Virginia in Morantown 55-14.

5. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (7-0) – Despite a less than impressive win over BYU, 17-14, didn’t get to drop in the rankings thanks to more impressive defense.

6. LSU Tigers (7-1) – Didn’t move after a big win with more problems on offense, taking down Texas A&M 24-19 in College Station, staying the highest ranked one-loss team.

7. Oregon State Beavers (6-0) – The Beavers are off to their first 6-0 start since 1907, moving up a spot in the rankings thanks to their 21-7 win over Utah.

8. Oklahoma Sooners (5-1) – Moved up two spots in the rankings after beating the worst team in the Big 12, Kansas, 52-7.

9. Ohio State Buckeyes (8-0) – The only 8-0 team, but needed an overtime to get through Purdue (29-22), falling two spots and losing Braxton Miller.

10. USC Trojans (6-1) – The Trojans destroyed one of the worst programs in college football, Colorado, with a 50-6 win, as Matt Barkley and Robert Woods set new school records.

11. Florida State Seminoles (7-1) – The top team in the ACC moved up one spot after beating Miami 33-20.

12. Georgia Bulldogs (6-1) – Moved up from 13 after Aaron Murray threw for 427 yards and four touchdwons, leading them to a 29-24 win over Kentucky, setting a new school record for completions in a game (30).

13. Mississippi State Bulldogs (7-0) – Keep on winning, although their was nothing impressive about their rival, Middle Tennessee, who lost 45-3.

14. Clemson Tigers (6-1) – Stayed where they were last week after an impressive 38-17 win over the ultra-disappointing Virginia Tech.

15. Texas Tech Red Raiders (6-1) – Seth Doege threw 7 touchdown passes as TTU overcame TCU in a triple overtime game, winning 56-53 in another Big 12 shootout.

16. Louisville Cardinals (7-0) – Stayed where the were after beating South Florida, barely, 27-25.

17. South Carolina Gamecocks (6-2) – Fell down two spots, losing their second consecutive SEC game on the road, this time a demolition to Florida, 44-11.

18. Rutgers Scarlet Knights (7-0) – Climbed two more spots on the AP Poll after beating Temple 35-10 with some more impressive defense.

19. Stanford Cardinals (5-2) – Climbed three spots after winning their third straight “Big Game”, beating California 21-3, as Stepfan Taylor ran for 189 yards.

20. Michigan Wolverines (5-2) – Climbed three spots after beating Michigan State in a slugfest, 12-10, becoming the first program to reach 900 wins.

21. Boise State Broncos (6-1) – Climbed three spots after beating UNLV 32-7.

22. Texas A&M Aggies (5-2) – Another big opportunity to make some noise, at home, against an SEC giant, but A&M fell short due to Manziel’s three interceptions, losing 19-24 to LSU.

23. Ohio Bobcats (7-0) – Didn’t play, climbed two spots.

24. Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (6-1) – Destroyed Idaho 70-28, and pushed themselves back into the rankings after a week out of the top 25.

25. West Virginia Mountaineers (5-2) – Fell down a further 8 spots, completing a 20 spot drop in two weeks after losing at home for the first time this season, a punishing 55-14 loss to Kansas State.
