There might be a lot of reasons why the New York Jets aren’t very popular with many NFL players, and part of it is their two quarterbacks, Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow, each bad in his own way. According to SI.com, who surveyed 180 players, those two are the most overrated players in the league, along with two highly paid Eagles and other high-profile quarterbacks, Tony Romo and Tom Brady.

Number 10 – Ndamukong Suh, Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions’ defensive lineman is one of those players that gets a lot of coverage but not necessarily for the good things he does. Problems off the field, borderline dirty hits and those that aren’t borderline don’t help him in the NFL popularity contest.

Number 9 – Tom Brady, New England Patriots

When it comes to Brady, I think it’s more of a jealousy thing from around the league. It doesn’t matter what kind of receiving group he has playing for him, Brady puts up huge numbers in a pass-happy offense, winning two MVP awards and being named first team All-Pro twice.

Number 8 – Michael Crabtree, San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers’ receiver isn’t usually named among the NFL’s best players, but for some reason, other players around the league don’t think too highly of the two time All-American back in Texas Tech, who still hasn’t had a 1000 yard season in the NFL.

Number 7 – Nnamdi Asomugha, Philadelphia Eagles

Asomugha is probably one of the best corners in the NFL, but when you get a huge contract ($60 million for five years) and your team is struggling to win, you’re not going to get too much love.

Number 6 – Reggie Bush, Miami Dolphins

Bush has put up the best numbers of his career since joining the Miami Dolphins, but a high-profile life outside the football stadium and simply not being the player people thought he’d be when he came out of college gets him easily cast into the overrated wagon.

Number 5 – Ray Lewis, Baltimore Ravens

The next few weeks, as the Baltimore Ravens play without Ray Lewis, will tell how true the notion that Lewis’ abilities on the football field are highly overrated by the media, called out by the players themselves.

Number 4 – Michael Vick, Philadelphia Eagles

The moment Vick got his huge contract from the Philadelphia Eagles, bad things started happening. Injuries, too many hits and this season seems to be a flood of turnovers, 8 interceptions and 9 fumbles so far.

Number 3 – Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys

Usually, Romo comes up with big numbers to cover up for the Cowboys’ futility and crunch time failures and losses. This season, he’s struggling to put up those big numbers which makes it easier pointing the finger at him for the team’s problems.

Number 2 – Mark Sanchez, New York Jets

It has nothing to do with Tebow. During Ryan’s early successes with the Jets, he managed to build a team that hid Sanchez mediocrity. Last couple of seasons, without decent receivers, a bad running game and a slow defense, Sanchez doesn’t look like such a hot quarterback anymore.
