There wasn’t much to be happy about if you’re a Miami Heat player after losing at home by 20 points to the New York Knicks, especially during the terrible second half. Earlier on, they had some things going for them, especially the most impressive dunk of the season, with Ray Allen, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James combining for the mid-air alley-oop.
For LeBron James, it was a second straight game that he preformed well above the level of his teammates, this time almost getting a triple double, finishing with 31 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. It wasn’t even enough to keep the game remotely close as the Heat’s defensive problems were once again exposed by the Knicks, who couldn’t stop shooting three pointers and couldn’t miss any as well, hitting 18 of them.
If anyone wants to blame LeBron James, it isn’t that popular anymore. And it’s probably not the right direction to point your finger at anyway. The team as a whole are defending very poorly. Some would say that they’re simply lazy this season, hoping their upgraded offense should carry them through. If all they have to show from a home game against one of their biggest rivals is some impressive slam dunk, than something isn’t so perfect in the land of the NBA champions.
