There’s no such thing as making predictions too early, especially when they are partially safe to assume of coming true. Like Alabama and Oregon being major players in the hunt for the last BCS National Championship title, before things get a little change up.

Alabama #1 – The champions from three of the last four national title games are returning too many key players to not put them at number one. Just thinking of the four offensive stars the team is returning – A.J. McCarron, T.J. Yeldon, Amari Cooper and probably Eddie Lacy is pretty frightening for the SEC, not to mention all that defense coming back.

Oregon trying to NOT lose one game – Most would agree that the Oregon Ducks were the most talented team aside from Alabama last year, and if not for that controversial loss against Stanford, we would have had a better national championship game. Still, Chip Kelly is staying, not to mention quarterback Marcus Mariota, De’Anthony Thomas and hopefully, enough talent and discipline to not miss out because of one avoidable loss this time.

Johnny Manziel & the Aggies – When you make your hindsight machine come to life, you’ll remember that if it wasn’t for a bad second half against Florida in their season opener, Texas A&M, the only team that beat Alabama in 2012, might have been playing for the national title this month. The Aggies are losing an All-American tackle but seem to filling the voids pretty nicely, and will be in the national title picture which will be a bit clearer in week 3, when the Aggies host the Tide.

Stanford Era – Stanford are here to stay, especially since switching from Josh Nunes to Kevin Hogan, leading them to their first Rose Bowl title in way too long. Most of Stanford’s elite defensive front seven is back, not to mention a great running game and offensive line. Going to battle with Oregon for the Pac-12 title once again.

Georgia Again – Every year it seems like the same story  A strong finish by the Georgia Bulldogs means national championship hopes the next one. Aaron Murray is returning for his senior season, and the Bulldogs are returning 10 of their 11 starters on offense, including the mighty Todd Gurley at running back after a fantastic Freshman year. The problem will be replacing Jarvis Jones, headed to the NFL.

Ohio State and the undefeated season – They finished 12-0, but didn’t get to play in a bowl game or for the conference title. Another year of the Urban Meyer rebuilding project kicks off, this time with a lot of hopes and expectations from him and quarterback Braxton Miller. The Buckeyes should be the best in the Big Ten, but they do have to replace their entire front four on defense.
