2013 NBA All-Star Game Starters

No new faces in the starting lineup of the 2013 NBA All-Star game, that will take place on February 17 at the Toyota Center in Houston. Kobe Bryant led all players with number of votes, edging out LeBron James and Kevin Durant by less than 100,000 votes, while Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade also got more than a million.

LeBron James, getting selected to the All-Star games for the ninth consecutive time, got more votes than anyone else on the Eastern team with 1,583,646. He is averaging 26.3 points, 7 rebounds and 8.1 assists this season. Carmelo Anthony of the Knicks made it into his sixth AS game, getting the second most votes in the East with 1,460,950. He is averaging 29.2 points and 6.1 rebounds this season. Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics completes the froncourt with his 15th selection. He’s averaging 14.6 points and 7 rebounds per game.

Dwyane Wade got more than a million votes, leading the Eastern guards, for his 9th selection. He is averaging 20.1 points per game this season. Rajon Rondo made it in for the fourth time, averaging 13.1 points, 11.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds this season.

Kobe Bryant was the most voted for player in the NBA, getting less than 8000 votes more than LeBron James. The Lakers’ shooting guard got in for a 15th time into the All-Star game. He’s leading the NBA in scoring this season with 29.7 points per game. Teammate Dwight Howard got 922,070 to make his 7th All-Star game, averaging 17.7 points and 12.7 rebounds this season.

The Clippers also send two starters: Chris Paul, who almost lost to Jeremy Lin in the voting, making his 6th All-Star game, averaging 16.8 points and 9.7 assists this season; and Blake Griffin, making it in for the third time, averaging 17.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Kevin Durant, getting more than 1.5 million votes, makes it in for the 4th time, averaging 28.7 points and 7.5 rebounds this season.
