Well… if the loss of points by United and Chelsea on Saturday gave Liverpool some hope of catching up and joining the title race IF they beat Arsenal tonight, those hopes were smashed tonight by a mediocre Arsenal side, relying on two Glen Johnson blunders (one own goal, one bad touch) and a brilliant Arshavin goal (yes, him again at Anfield), giving Arsenal a win that seemingly keeps them in touch with the big two as they have a game in hand. Torres came back from injury, but he was bad like the rest of his teammates, including Steven Gerrard, continuing his poor form since returning from injury. Benitez played Aquilani in the second half but he couldn’t help or change a thing as Liverpool carry on in this nightmarish season, unable to beat a striker-less Arsenal side. Arsenal are now third with 31 points and game in hand, Liverpool are 7th with 24 points, 13 behind league leaders Chelsea.
