On a day like today, with Birmingham being in the form that they’re in, maybe 1-1 at St. Andrews isn’t so bad. United even had Darren Fletcher sent off near the end, and if it wasn’t for Kuszczak’s alertness in the final minutes, it would have been a very cold and sad ride back to Manchester.

Despite dominating the first half on the frozen pitch, it was Jerome who gave Birmingham the lead, United began the second half pressing on the home side, and eventually an own goal from Scott Dann was what the red devils needed to get a point which puts them one point behind Chelsea who have a game in hand. Birmingham are now undefeated in 12 straight league games (last defeat in October to Arsenal), making it a top flight club record for the home side.

Cameron Jerome, 39th minute

Scott Dann (own goal), 64th minute
