With group D getting into action today, all the teams have played their first match of the tournament. Although both matches today didn’t rise to the levels of football we saw yesterday, especially from the enjoyable Egypt-Nigeria match, we still had a huge shocker, with Hull City’s Daniel Cousin handing Gabon their second victory in the nation’s ACN history, beating heavy favorites Cameroon, with Samuel Eto’o 1-0. The other match in the group between Tunisia and Zambia ended in a 1-1 draw, as two first half goals from Jacob Mulenga (Zambia, 19) and Souheil Dhaouadi (Tunisia, 40) left both teams disappointed in light of the earlier game, leaving this group wide open as to who will qualify.

Gabon – Cameroon : 1-0

Zambia – Tunisia : 1-1

Tomorrow’s games:

Group A: Mali (1 point) vs Algeria (0 points), Angola (1 point) vs Malawi (3 points).
