NFL Rumors – Denver Broncos Interested in Ahmad Bradshaw

Ahmad Bradshaw

Considering the options left in the running back market, a team like the Denver Broncos, which has clear needs of improvement in that position, it’s been surprising there hasn’t been much action regarding resolving the situation. But Ahmad Bradshaw is beginning to cause more and more ripples in the calm waters around the league, including that of Denver, who might eventually make a move for him before someone else does.

That someone else is most likely the Pittsburgh Steelers, quite interested in the former New York Giants tailback. The Dallas Cowboys have also been mentioned in regards to Bradshaw, but they probably don’t have the money to make anything happen. The Broncos were looking at other backs before Bradshaw, but remembered moving in a bit too late, as in the case of Shonn Greene and Rashard Mendenhall.

Their current running back trio of Knowshon Moreno, Ronnie Hillman and Willis McGahee won’t be alone when training camp begins. McGahee suffered a ligament injury to go with a fracture. Moreno had a stem-cell treatment on his knee following the season. While Bradshaw also had surgery after the 2012 season was over and is only one month out of a walking boot, he’ll probably be ahead of the rest if the Broncos do make a move for him.

Bradshaw has had his ups and downs over the last few seasons with the Giants, not to mention surgeries. But he was very productive in 2012, running for 1015 yards and 6 touchdowns, also catching 23 passes, going for 245 yards, as the Giants barely missed the postseason and a chance to defend their Super Bowl title. After Bradshaw got yet another surgery in a series of operations following him since the beginning of his NFL career, they decided that he isn’t worth the hassle considering what they have coming up in David Wilson and Andre Brown.

The Brocnos, even if they do sign Bradshaw, aren’t going to give up on the options they have in the draft, probably using one of their picks on a running back, most likely Le’Veon Bell coming out of Michigan State or Christine Michael coming out of Texas A&M.
