Maybe there’s karma in this world, maybe not. Bridge didn’t even finish the game, and he certainly didn’t score. No matter, as Carlos Tevez and Craig Bellamy did the job for him, taking Chelsea’s defense apart, grabbing a brace each, as John Terry was eventually left alone (2 red cards – Belletti, Ballack) to face four City players in the fourth goal. They are still on top, but only one point ahead of United, and who knows how much of a blow this defeat will turn out to be. City now climb back to fourth, four points ahead of Liverpool and three ahead of Tottenham, handing Chelsea their first home loss of the season. City are the only team to remain undefeated at home.
