With their interior offensive line situation far from solved, the Indianapolis Colts might still be looking to make a few additions this offseason, showing some interest in guards & centers Brandon Moore, Eugene Amano and Andre Gurode.

The Colts used two draft picks on interior offensive lineman – Their third round pick on Khaled Holmes out of USC, and a fourth round pick on Hugh Thornton out of Illinois. While the two are going to bring quite a challenge to the projected starters, it’s hard to believe the Colts will risk using two rookies to defend Andrew Luck from the middle.

The Colts were ninth-worst in the NFL last season in protecting the quarterback, allowing 41 sacks. While Anthony Castonzo is a solid player at left tackle and free agency pickup Gosder Cherilus from the Detroit Lions is a big upgrade at the right tackle position, the Colts are quite worried about the returning starter duo of Samson Satele at center and Mike McGlynn at right guard.

Both of them were ranked among the worst at their respective position last season by Pro Football Focus, which brings the Colts back to the free agency market, ready to make a move for a player or even two if the preseason signs aren’t very promising.

The options? Brandon Moore, who made the Pro Bowl in 2011 and has spent his entire career with the New York Jets (since 2003), starting all 16 games in eight consecutive seasons. The other two notable free agents are centers – Andre Gurode, a five-time Pro Bowl selection with the Dallas Cowboys, who played last for the Baltimore Ravens in 2011 and served as an unused backup for the Chicago Bears last season. Gurode can play both guard and center.

The third option is Eugene Amano, who has played his entire NFL career (since 2004) with the Tennessee Titans, playing at both positions, but used more and more as a center in recent years. He was a backup left unused in 2012.
