Funniest Goal Celebrations Ever

Jonas Gutierrez

After the funny goal celebration by Jonas Gutierrez in Newcastle’s win over Barnsley this weekend (putting on a Spider-man mask), we decided to honor those who celebrate goals in the most creative and funny ways, even if their intention isn’t always to entertain.

Craig Bellamy

He always had a reputation of being a bad boy and anti social, that’s why no one was surprised when the golf club attack on John Arne Riise was published. But everyone (at least Liverpool supporters) were surely laughing when he scored a goal at the Camp Nou in 2007, celebrating it with a golfing gesture.

Jimmy Bullard

No list can be complete without a feature from the biggest joker in the Premier League. In 2008 Hull visited the City Of Manchester stadium and were down 4-0 in half time, Hull’s manager at the time Phil Brown decided to give them a lecture in front of the Hull supporters. A year later Jimmy Bullard scored the equalizer in the next tie between the two teams and decided to commemorate the previous actions by Phil Brown.

Temuri Katsabia

This Georgian played for Newcastle in the end of the 90’s and became a cult figure for the fans at St James’s Park. One of the reasons he was so loved was when he kicked the McDonald’s and Adidas advertising boards around the field took off his shirt, and seem terribly angry. He must have forgot that he scored a goal.

Roger Galera Flores

This Brazilian midfielder better known as Roger signed last January for Cruzeiro and decided to celebrate his first goal against Atletico MG by stealing the Club mascot’s (a Fox) head, putting it on his head and running to the fans.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy

Definitely one of the best celebrations ever, as Ruud missed a penalty in a game against Andorra in a World Cup Qualifying tie in 2006 and was laughed at by Antoni Lima from Andorra. Six minutes later, Van Nistelrooy scored a goal and went straight to Lima to celebrate the goal infront of his face with his arms raised up in content. Pure genius.

Jose Antonio Reyes

Well it wasn’t actually HIS celebration but Reyes was the one who scored a goal against Viladolid when he was with Sevilla back in 2001. Reyes celebrated the goal by spreading on the ground with joy as his team mates jump over him but one of them decided to nibble on his genitals. A very strange goal celebration.

Peter Crouch

Crouch’s robot celebration was probably the only positive from England’s 2006 World Cup campaign. He performed it on 3 occasions the first in a win against Hungary and two more after a brace against Jamaica.

Robbie Fowler

Robbie Fowler

One of the most bold celebrations, as Robbie Fowler decided to ironically defend himself against rumors of drug abuse, by snorting the white line of the penalty area, after a goal against Everton in a 1999 derby match.

  1. Awesome list. I wish they would let this kind of stuff happen in American football. I got to give it to Fowler, the snort was genius.

  2. […] Craig Bellamy – Came for 6 million pounds from Blackburn, and stayed for only one season after apparently not seeing eye to eye with Benitez about the way he’d be used on the pitch. Scored seven goals in 27 league matches, but his most famous one came in the Champions League against Barcelona after the Golf incident. […]
