NFL Rumors – Cleveland Browns Trying to Trade Brian Sanford, Ishmaa’ily Kitchen & Armonty Bryant

Being loaded at most positions of the defensive line isn’t a bad thing, but the Cleveland Browns have plenty of problems with talent and depth at other positions, so there’s a good chance they’ll be looking to trade Brian Sanford, Ishmaa’ily Kitchen and/or Armonty Bryant.

The Browns almost completed a trade that involved Sanford with the Seattle Seahawks, but that trade fell apart when guard John Moffitt didn’t pass a physical. The Browns are left looking for players at running back to serve as backups for Trent Richardson, while their situation at right guard isn’t too pleasing either. Injuries to Dion Lewis, Shawn Lauvao and Jason Pinkston have been a bit too much for them to handle.

Ishmaa'ily Kitchen

Sanford joined the Browns in 2011 after going undrafted in the 2010 draft. He has played a total of 6 games for the Browns, including only one in the 2012 season, so far producing three tackles in his unaccomplished NFL career.

Kitchen is another undrafted player who joined the team last season, playing in 15 games during the 2012 season, usually in a very small role. Armonty Bryant is the 217th overall pick of the 2013 draft (7th round), and the Browns don’t seem to have much use for him, which also has to do with his problems off the field, which include selling Marijuana and driving under the influence.

It’s hard to say just how much the Browns can get for one, two or all three players, but it’s obvious it’s not going to be something meaningful, especially at this stage, so close to the beginning of the season. In any case, it’ll be someone who provides meager backup, nothing more, for a team that has five players they’re quite satisfied with at defensive line, and is simply trying to get rid of excess weight.
