Manchester United Transfer Rumors – Marouane Fellaini Signing Getting Closer

Marouane Fellaini vs Cardiff

It’s going to take a few more hours (and maybe a bit more than that) before we get a clear picture about the situation between Manchester United and Everton regarding the chances of Marouane Fellaini ending up with the Red Devils, but looking at the most recent transaction made by the Toffees, there’s a good chance the Belgian midfielder is on his way to Old Trafford.

Everton have completed the signing of midfielder James McCarthy from Wigan for £12.5 million according to the Daily Mail, and it’s surprising to see Everton spending that kind of money on a midfielder who obviously expects to be a starting one without intending to make up for that expenditure in a different way, which is most likely selling Fellaini to United.

It seems that at the moment, Manchester United are willing to offer £24 million but Everton are looking for something along the lines of £28 million. Fellaini isn’t the only player United are looking at, but if that’s the actual difference from completing the deal or being left empty handed, it’s weird that David Moyes still hasn’t pulled the trigger on this one.

There is the Ander Herrera option, but it seems like his price tag of €36 million isn’t something United are willing to pay. Herrera isn’t a proven international, while Fellaini might not be coming with Champions League experience either, but they’ve seen what he can do in the Premier League, which is more than what Herrara can claim for himself.

David Moyes has hinted at things going on in the transfer market as the final 24 hours of deal-making are upon us, with the pressure on him to make something happen greater than ever before after Manchester United lost to Liverpool and the team has failed to score a goal in their last two matches.
