Week 2 of the 2013 NFL season puts the NFL champions, desperately looking for a win, at home against the lowly Cleveland Browns, while most of the attention goes to the NFC West showdown between the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers and the battle of the Manning brothers as the New York Giants host the Denver Broncos.

Miami Dolphins (1-0) at Indianapolis Colts (1-0), 1:00 PM

Playing against the Colts might give the Dolphins a chance to get their running game going after a very poor 20 yard performance in week 1, beating Cleveland 23-10. They’re also hoping to test Luck’s protection through Cameron Wake. However, the Colts have an excellent quarterback and an improved defense, and will probably repeat on their 23-20 win over the Dolphins from last season.

Tennessee Titans (1-0) at Houston Texans (1-0), 1:00

The Titans had many people surprised with their defensive performance against the Steelers in week 1 (16-9), but will face a very difficult challenge in Houston against a team that had no problem moving the chains for 449 yards last week in their win over the Chargers. The problem for the Titans will be staying turnover free, with Houston forcing nine turnovers in their two wins over Tennessee last season, a streak they’ll continue in 2013.

Dallas Cowboys (1-0) at Kansas City Chiefs (1-0), 1:00

While the Dallas Cowboys enjoyed a big win over a legitimate opponent, displaying a change in style with Tony Romo focusing on the short game, the Kansas City Chiefs faced the worst team in the NFL to start off with a 28-2 win over the Jags. The Cowboys and the Chiefs have met only twice in the last 8 years, with Dallas winning twice. If their running game can support their efficient passing, they’ll win for a third time.

St. Louis Rams (1-0) at Atlanta Falcons (1-0), 1:00

Despite playing well early on, the Atlanta Falcons stumbled to an opening day loss against the Saints. Sam Bradford will try to test the Falcons’ secondary like Brees did in week 1, but it’ll be interesting to see how they handle the offense the Falcons bring to the table, which should look much better on its second week as Stephen Jackson takes on his former teammates.

Carolina Panthers (0-1) at Buffalo Bills (0-1), 1:00

Two teams that felt like they had a win within their grasp, but just didn’t have enough offense on the day to beat the Seahawks and the Patriots. The Bills struggled against the run vs the Patriots, allowing 158 yards, which means the Panthers should continue to focus on the ground game, which this time should give them their first win of the season.

Minnesota Vikings (0-1) at Chicago Bears (1-0), 1:00

The Vikings are in trouble, because Adrian Peterson can’t win against good teams on his own. He did rush for two touchdowns and 93 yards in the week 1 loss to the Lions, but most of those yards came in one play. Without Ponder acting like a decent quarterback, there’s not much chance of success. For the Bears, it’ll be about improving Jay Cutler’s spreading the ball, while getting a running game going for Matt Forte, who didn’t do too well in week 1, and should do better this time.

Washington Redskins (0-1) at Green Bay Packers (0-1), 1:00

The Packers couldn’t have played much better in their close game with the 49ers in week 1, but they’ll be a lot more comfortable at Lambeau field against a team that doesn’t provide the kind of problem the Niners do for Green Bay. Until Robert Griffin III is completely healthy, the Redskins are one big question mark, especially if Green Bay can do well against the run like they did in San Francisco.

San Diego Chargers (0-1) at Philadelphia Eagles (1-0), 1:00

According to the history books, the Chargers are destined to win the Super Bowl this year because they’re playing in Philadelphia for the Eagles’ home opener. However, Philip Rivers collapsed in the ending of the game against the Texans, costing his team a win, and it’ll be interesting to see how he picks himself up against the lightning quick Chip Kelly offense, who will probably show a few new tricks en route to a second victory.

Cleveland Browns (0-1) at Baltimore Ravens (1-0), 1:00

The Browns looked awful against the Miami Dolphins, with Brandon Weeden not showing any signs of progress by throwing three interceptions and competing only 49.1% of his passes. The Ravens had similar problems in Denver, but against a much stronger team, and will hope to get their running game going against a softer opponent.

Detroit Lions (1-0) at Arizona Cardinals (0-1), 4:05

The offenses looked good for both teams in week 1, but the Lions need to prove their secondary can perform well against a more capable quarterback in Carson Palmer, while the not 100% Reggie Bush is expected to continue his impressive start to his Lions career, that included 191 yards in both rushing and receiving.

New Orleans Saints (1-0) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-1), 4:05

A huge game for the Bucs especially, as it seems like Josh Freeman isn’t winning himself too many fans with his attitude. The Bucs lost the game against the Jets due to a foolish personal foul, while the Saints looked very good and fluid in their opening win against the Falcons. Freeman is an up & down kind of guy, and should look better against New Orleans, like his whole team.

Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) at Oakland Raiders (1-0), 4:25

The Jags are awful, and there’s no real hope for them, with Chad Henne or Blaine Gabbert at quarterback. The Raiders did lose in week 1, but Terrelle Pryor showed encouraging signs of being a trustworthy starting quarterback, as long as he doesn’t fear taking off with the ball and running instead of forcing things with his arm.

Denver Broncos (1-0) at New York Giants (0-1), 4:25

The battle of the Mannings might not be as close as some might think. The Broncos’ offense looked smoldering hot in the week 1 win over Baltimore, and the Giants defense struggled to keep up with the Cowboys a week ago. The Giants need a lot of things to work for them – a problematic running game and Eli not throwing interceptions, while the Broncos have a much surer and safer hand in Peyton running the show.

San Francisco 49ers (1-0) at Seattle Seahawks (1-0), 8:30

THE game of the season, chapter 1. A relatively new rivalry, but it just might pit together the two best teams in the NFL. Colin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson were flawless in their opening week wins, even though Kaepernick needed some officials to help his team come up with the win. The 49ers looked awful last season in Seattle; they’ll do better this time, but they’ll struggle against the physicality of the secondary, and drop their first game of the season.

Pittsburgh Steelers (0-1) at Cincinnati Bengals (0-1), Monday Night Football

The Steelers couldn’t have looked any worse in their opening loss, but there aren’t too many signs that the offense, with only 194 yards of total offense, will look any better. The Bengals lost a close one against the Bears, and should have enough on both ends of the field, as long as Dalton doesn’t try too hard, to win their first game of the season.
