After week 4 of the 2013 College Football season, we still have 29 undefeated teams: 4 SEC Teams (Missouri, LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss), 6 Pac-12 teams (Stanford, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, UCLA, Colorado), 5 ACC teams (Clemson, Florida State, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Miami), 4 Big 12 Teams (Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Baylor, Oklahoma State), 4 Big Ten teams (Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio State), 3 AAC Teams (Louisville, Houston, UCF), 1 Independent (Navy), 1 MAC team (Northern Illinois), and 1 MWC team (Fresno State).

Obviously, not all of them played this weekend, and some (few, like Colorado or Navy), haven’t really been tested this season, playing only two games so far before a much harsher schedule kicks off.

Three remaining undefeated teams played in the SEC this weekend: Alabama had no problem beating Colorado State 31-6; LSU came out on top in their usual bruiser with Auburn, winning 35-21 to hand the Tigers (From Alabama) their first loss of the season, and Missour won in Indiana 45-28. Arkansas lost their undefeated status by being beaten 28-24 by Rutgers on the road.

Three of the undefeated teams in the Pac-12 saw action this weekend: Washington had a perfect game at home against Idaho State, winning 56-0; Stanford handed Arizona State their first loss this season with a 35-21 win at home; and UCLA remained perfect with an impressive yet predictable 59-13 win over New Mexico State.

In the ACC, all five undefeated teams played over the weekend: Clemson were the first to take the field on Thursday night, beating a tough North Carolina State team 26-14; Georgia Tech remained perfect at 3-0 with their second conference win, beating North Carolina 28-20; Maryland beat a terrible West Virginia team 37-0; Florida State had an easy time against an FCS opponent in Bethune-Cookman winning 54-6; and Miami poured down the points on Savannah State, winning 77-7.

Two of the undefeated teams in the Big 12 played their games this Saturday: Baylor didn’t have an ounce of trouble against Louisiana-Monroe, beating the Warhawks 70-7. Texas Tech enojyed another strong performance from their backup quarterback Davis Webb to beat Texas State 33-7.

All four undefeated teams in the Big Ten took the field: Minnesota beat San Jose State 43-24 enjoying a big day on the ground from Mitch Leidner; Ohio State dismantled Florida A&M 76-0; Northwestern ran into some trouble against Maine, still winning 35-21; and Michigan were nearly upset for a second straight weekend, this time vs UConn, winning 24-21. Michigan State lost to Notre Dame, losing their undefeated status.

In the American Athletic conference, only two of the three undefeated teams played: Louisville stayed the course with a 72-0 win over Florida International; Houston struggled on the road against Rice, but came up with the 31-26 win.

In the Mountain West Conference, Fresno State won their most important game of the year, beating Boise State 41-40 thanks to a touchdown with 2:14 left on the clock to give them control over the conference, probably the title as well.
