Week 10 of the 2013 College Football season did provide one matchup between two top 10 teams and two more games between ranked teams that aren’t going to be in the championship game picture by the end of the year, which means that the next edition of the BCS standings won’t feature any substantial change.

The biggest game of the weekend came from the ACC, as Florida State pulled off a very dominant 41-14 win over Miami. The Hurricanes managed to hang on for the first half, but they lost Duke Johnson at some point, probably for the season, and fell apart in the second half against a much better Seminoles team.

Both teams turned the ball over twice, as Jameis Winston had an inconsistent game, but Miami couldn’t run the ball without Johsnon, being halted at 83 yards, and with Stephen Morris throwing two interceptions, there was no way of keeping up with a better team.

Ohio State remained undefeated after a 56-0 win over Purdue, making it 21 consecutive wins for the Buckeyes, although it won’t help them move up from no. 4 in the standings. Braxton Miller completed 19-of-23 for 233 yards and four touchdown passes, which allowed Kenny Guiton to come out and play, throwing a touchdown pass and running for two more in a rare display of ground game talent from the backup quarterback.

The next big game down the list of importance was Oklahoma State winning in Lubbock against Texas Tech, beating the Red Raiders 52-34. The Cowboys were 18th before the game, but will probably trade place with Texas Tech (no. 15) if not better by the time the standings come out, with Oklahoma State losing only once in conference play, while Tech suffered their second loss to an Oklahoma team.

Michigan State kept on their surprising season with a dominant defensive display against rivals Michigan. This should mean that the Wolverines will be knocked out of the top 25, maybe for the final time this season, while the Spartans improve to 7-1 this season, beating Michigan 29-6 while holding them to a -48 in the running game.

As for other undefeated teams, Fresno State are now 8-0 after a 41-23 win over Nevada, while Northern Illinois enjoyed the talents of Jordan Lynch en route to a 63-19 win over Massachusetts.
