Bowl Season

With the final BCS standings coming out, we have ourselves a BCS national championship game between Florida State and Auburn. The rest of the BCS games? Ohio State and Clemson in the Orange Bowl; Baylor and UCF in the Fiesta Bowl; Alabama and Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl; and Michigan State playing Stanford in the Rose Bowl.

There are quite a few very interesting non-BCS Bowls to look forward to: Oklahoma State playing Missouri in the Cotton Bowl, Wisconsin playing South Carolina in the Capital One bowl and Nebraska facing Georgia in the Gator Bowl.

Gildan New Mexico Bowl

Who – Washington State (6-6) and Colorado State (7-6). Colorado State played in this bowl game back in 2008, beating Fresno State 40-35.

When – December 21, 2:00 PM.

Where – Albuquerque, N.M., University Stadium.

Royal Purple Las Vegas

Who – Fresno State (#20, 11-1) and USC (#25, 9-4). The Bulldogs played in this bowl back in 1999, losing to Utah.

When – December 21, 3:30 PM.

Where – Las Vegas, Sam Boyd Stadium.

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl

Who – Buffalo (8-4) and San Diego State (7-5).

When – December 21, 5:30 PM.

Where – Boise, Idaho, Bronco Stadium.

R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl

Who – Tulane (7-5) and Louisiana Lafayette (8-4). The Ragin Cajuns have won this bowl game over the last couple of years.

When – December 21, 9:00 PM.

Where – New Orleans, Superdome.

Beef ‘O’ Brady’s St. Petersburg Bowl

Shane Carden

Who – East Carolina (9-3) and Ohio (7-5).

When – December 23, 2:00 PM.

Where – St. Petersburg, Fla, Tropicana Field.

Sheraton Hawaii Bowl

Who – Boise State (8-4) and Oregon State (6-6). Boise State have played here once, losing to East Carolina in 2007.

When – December 24, 8:00 PM.

Where – Honolulu, Aloha Stadium.

Little Caesars Pizza Bowl

Who – Pittsburgh (6-6) and Bowling Green (10-3). Bowling Green played 10 years ago in this bowl, beating Northwestern.

When – December 26, 6:00 PM.

Where – Detroit, Ford Field.

S.D. County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl

Jordan Lynch

Who – Utah State (8-5) and Northern Illinois (#23, 12-1). The Huskies played in this bowl game back in 2006, losing to TCU.

When – December 26, 9:30 PM.

Where – San Diego, Qualcomm Stadium.

Military Bowl Presented By Northrop Grumman

Who – Marshall (9-4) and Maryland (7-5). Maryland won this bowl in 2010, beating East Carolina.

When – December 27, 2:30 PM.

Where – Annapolis, Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

Texas Bowl

Who – Syracuse (6-6) and Minnesota (8-4). Minnesota played in this bowl game last year, losing to Texas Tech.

When – December 27, 6:00 PM.

Where – Houston, Reliant Stadium.

Fight Hunger Bowl

Who – BYU (8-4) and Washington (8-4).

When – December 27, 9:30 PM.

Where – San Francisco, AT&T Park.

New Era Pinstripe Bowl

Who – Rutgers (6-6) and Notre Dame (8-4). Rutgers beat Iowa State to win this bowl game in 2011.

When – December 28, Noon.

Where – New York, Yankees Stadium.

Belk Bowl

Who – Cincinnati (9-3) and North Carolina (6-6). The Tar Heels have appeared in this one three times, losing each one. Cincinnati are the defending champions, beating Duke last year.

When – December 28, 3:20 PM.

Where – Charlotte, Bank of America Stadium.

Russell Athletic Bowl

Teddy Bridgewater

Who – Miami (9-3) and Louisville (#18, 11-1). This is a fourth appearance for the ‘Canes, winning two out of three so far.

When – December 28, 6:45 PM.

Where – Orlando, Citrus Bowl.

Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl

Who – Michigan (7-5) and Kansas State (7-5). This is the third time for the Wildcats in this bowl, splitting their appearances so far.

When – December 28, 10:15 PM.

Where – Tempe, Sun Devil Stadium.

Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl

Who – Middle Tennessee (8-4) and Navy (7-4).

When – December 30, 11:45 AM.

Where – Fort Worth, Amon G. Carter Stadium.

Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl

Who – Ole Miss (7-5) and Georgia Tech (7-5). This is the second appearance here for Ole Miss, losing here to West Virginia in 2000.

When – December 30, 3:15 PM.

Where – Nashville, LP Field.

Valero Alamo Bowl

Marcus Mariota

Who – Oregon (#10, 10-2) and Texas (8-4). This is the third appearance for Texas, winning the previous two, including last year against Oregon State.

When – December 30, 6:45 PM.

Where – San Antonio, Alamodome.

National University Holiday Bowl

Who – Arizona State (#14, 10-3) and Texas Tech (7-5). Arizona State have lost all three appearances; The Red Raiders beat California on their only visit in 2004.

When – December 30, 10:15 PM.

Where – San Diego, Qualcomm Stadium.

AdvoCare V100 Bowl

Who – Arizona (7-5) and Boston College (7-5).

When – December 31, 12:30 PM.

Where – Shreveport, Independence Stadium.

Hyundai Sun Bowl

Who – Virginia Tech (8-4) and UCLA (#17, 9-3). This is the fourth appearance for UCLA in the Sun Bowl and a second for the Hokies.

When – December 31, 2:00 PM.

Where – El Paso, Sun Bowl.

AutoZone Liberty Bowl

Who – Rice (10-3) and Mississippi State (6-6). A fourth appearance for the Bulldogs, winning here twice, including on their last visit in 2007 against UCF.

When – December 31, 4:00 PM.

Where – Memphis, Liberty Bowl.

Chick-fil-A Bowl

Johnny Manziel

Who – Duke (10-3) and Texas A&M (8-4).

When – December 31, 8:00 PM.

Where – Atlanta, Georgia Dome.

TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl

Who – Nebraska (8-4) and Georgia (#22, 8-4). This will be the fourth appearance for Georgia (winning twice) and a second for Nebraska, winning here in 2009.

When – January 1, Noon.

Where – Jacksonville, Everbank Field.

Heart of Dallas Bowl

Who – UNLV (7-5) and North Texas (8-4).

When – January 1, Noon.

Where – Dallas, Cotton Bowl.

Capital One Bowl

Who – Wisconsin (#19, 9-3) and South Carolina (#9, 10-2). A third appearance for the Gamecocks (1-1), winning here in 2012. The Badgers are 2-0, last winning in 2006.

When – January 1, 1:00 PM.

Where – Orlando, Citrus Bowl.

Outback Bowl

Who – Iowa (8-4) and LSU (#16, 9-3). LSU haven’t played here since 1988. For Iowa, it’ll be their fourth visit, winning their most recent one in 2008.

When – January 1, 1:00 PM.

Where – Tampa, Raymond James Stadium.

Rose Bowl

Who – Stanford (#5, 11-2) and Michigan State (#4, 12-1). This is the fifth Rose Bowl for the Spartans, going 3-1 so far. Stanford are here for a 13th time, winning last year against Wisconsin.

When – January 1, 5:00 PM.

Where – Pasadena, Rose Bowl.

Fiesta Bowl

Who – UCF (#15, 11-1) and Baylor (#6, 11-1).

When – January 1, 8:30 PM.

Where – Glendale, University of Phoenix Stadium.

Sugar Bowl

Who – Oklahoma (#11, 10-2) and Alabama (#3, 11-1). Oklahoma are 4-2 in the Sugar Bowl, last time losing to LSU in 2004. Alabama are 8-5, last time losing to Utah in 2009.

When – January 2, 8:30 PM.

Where – New Orleans, Superdome.

AT&T Cotton Bowl

Who – Oklahoma State (#13, 10-2) and Missouri (#8, 11-2). This is the fourth appearance for the Cowboys, last losing to Ole Miss in 2010. It’s a third appearance for Missouri (1-1), winning against Arkansas in 2008.

When – January 3, 7:30 PM.

Where – Arlington, AT&T Stadium.

Orange Bowl

Braxton Miller

Who – Clemson (#12) and Ohio State (#7, 12-1). Ohio State’s only appearance was in 1977, beating Colorado. It’s a 5th time for Clemson (2-2), last losing 70-33 to West Virginia in 2012.

When – January 3, 8:30 PM.

Where – Miami, Sun Life Stadium.

BBVA Compass Bowl

Who – Vanderbilt (8-4) and Houston (8-4).

When – January 4, 1:00 PM.

Where – Birmingham, Legion Field.

GoDaddy Bowl

Who – Arkansas State (7-5) and Ball State (10-2). It’s a third appearance for Arkansas State (1-1) and a second for Ball State (0-1).

When – January 5, 9:00 PM.

Where – Mobile, Ladd-Peebles Stadium

VIZIO BCS National Championship Game

Who – Florida State (#1, 13-0) and Auburn (#2, 12-1). This is the fourth NCG for the Seminoles (1-2), and the first since 2000. It is the second for Auburn, winning it three years ago.

When – January 6, 8:30 PM.

Where – Pasadena, Rose Bowl.
