NFL Rumors – Denver Broncos Intersted in Drafting Max Bullough

Max Bullough

This offseason has been mostly about improving the defense for the Denver Broncos, but they’re still looking for a middle linebacker upgrade, and probably looking to the draft and specifically Max Bullough of Michigan State to be that man.

Two players filled that position last season: Paris Lenon, who is 36 years old, and Wesley Woodyard, who has already signed with the Tennessee Titans. If the season was to begin right now, Nate Irving would be the man to fill the position. He stepped in for the injured Von Miller last season, doing it rather well, but he’s not exactly a star at the MLB position.

The free agency market doesn’t offer too many options at this stage – all the good guys have been taken, so the Broncos will most likely be taking a look at what the draft has to offer at this position, taking someone in the second or third round.

But who? According to Mike Klis of the Denver Post it’s going to be Max Bullough of Michigan State, who was suspended  from the Rose Bowl which Michigan State won against Stanford to finish the season with just one loss.

Bullough is rated as one of the two best middle linebackers in this upcoming draft, but he’s considered to be a third round pick by most, mostly because of his behavior issues, which remain something of a mystery, but pretty much every NFL team interested in the player asked him about the matter during the combine.

But there are those who think the Broncos will take another middle linebacker, also from the Big Ten. After the Broncos took a pass rusher in DeMarcus Ware, their need for a middle linebacker can be moved to the draft, and Chris Borland of Wisconsin, a player quite a few teams consider as a first round pick, might be the one the Broncos actually go for.
