The experienced yet still quite young Kenny Britt continues to make his rounds with NFL teams, visiting with the St. Louis Rams but also scheduled to give the New England Patriots and Washington Redskins the same kind of treament, meaning he’ll likely end up with one of the three teams.
Britt, 25, played for the Tennessee Titans since entering the league in 2009, beginning his career as mostly a return specialist before dropping those assignments and focusing solely on receiving.
He hasn’t put up very big or dominant numbers, especially last season. He played in 12 games, catching a career low 11 passes for 96 yards and for the first time in his career, 0 touchdowns.
He’s had much better seasons before, especially during his first two seasons in the league when he caught for over 700 yards in both of them. He was also quite involved in the 2012 season, catching 45 passes for 589 yards and four touchdowns.
Britt isn’t going to be a number one receiver for anyone. More likely like a #3 guy at best, but teams with depth issues and looking for someone cheap who can also help in the return game, Britt might be the guy for them.
The Patriots have already made two receiving additions, but considering how poor their receiving corp was last season, it won’t be surprising to see them trying to add another one. The same goes for the Washington Redskins, who need to keep on adding offensive weapons to help out Robert Griffin III. The St. Louis Rams need help in about every position, and as long as Britt doesn’t demand more than veteran’s minimum, they should keep looking at him as a viable option.
